Spoiler alert. This honkin' rear wing is attached to the back of an unfinished Lexus RC F GT3.
The Japanese have decided to go head-to-head against the posh brands in European GT3 racing.
Then, in 2016, the RC F GT3 will also race in the US, though they're not yet saying which series it'll join.
They're not saying much about the tech of the car, beyond that it has a V8. It's all very early in the process. First it'll be seeded out to development companies, then sold to customer race teams.
That means it'll have to go against race versions of the Porsche 911, Lamborghini Huracan, Aston Vantage, Ferrari 458, Corvette, Bentley GT, McLaren 650S and more. Good luck to it.
Lexus has decided that it's going to have to dig itself out of the soft-sofa rut. Sure it doesn't expect to sell many copies of the roadgoing RC F, or the brand-new GS F.
But at the GS F's Detroit unveil, executives said the mere existence of those aggressive V8s helps them sell lots more F-Sport versions of the rest of the Lexus range. Those versions have a succulent extra profit compared with the base cars...
