The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is getting plenty of love at the 2016 SEMA show. One of the entries is this beast from Foutz Motorsports. You may recognize that name – Foutz is Ford’s driver for the upcoming Baja 1000 race in which he will pilot a nearly stock Raptor with his co-driver. But rather than letting Ford have all the fun, Foutz let his personal design team go crazy with this truck for SEMA.
It started life as a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew with the high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 and new 10-speed automatic transmission. Foutz and his team didn’t stop there, of course. SEMA is about being over the top with aftermarket add-ons.
The truck was designed to be both luxurious and capable – able to cruise down the highway or compete in an off-road race. The truck’s stance was widened by three inches on each side, making it a full six inches wider for better high-speed stability. The fenders had to be widened as well, now measuring a full four inches wider. The truck rides on huge 40-inch tires on upgraded beadlock wheels.
The body color isn’t left stock either, getting a cool 3M vinyl wrap job with the DeBerti Design logo, letting folks know what company did the body modifications.
There’s plenty more to be seen, so keep reading for the full run-down.

Exterior
We’ve only got a rendering to go by, but Foutz’s SEMA F-150 looks awesome in concept from. The black wrap job with green accents match the green beadlock rings on the wheels and the green grille inserts. A full-width LED light bar above the cab helps rid the night of darkness, while a smaller LED light bar resides just above the front bumper.
While this truck started life as a Raptor, it seems Foutz decided to use the standard F-150 grille rather than the blocky FORD grille typical of the 2017 Raptor.
And while this truck started life as a Raptor, it seems Foutz decided to use the standard F-150 grille rather than the blocky FORD grille typical of the 2017 Raptor. Nevertheless, this beast is ready for the trail thanks to Innov8 Racing 17x9-inch forged beadlock wheel wrapped in BFGoodrich Baja T/A tires measuring 40 inches in height. That’s at least what Foutz Motorsports press release says. That doesn’t quite match up with the rendering.
Anyway, the truck looks like it will be a great concept truck that should attract tons of attention at this year’s SEMA event.
Interior
This truck is said to have a full Foutz Motorsports roll cage, PRP Seats with five-point harnesses embroidered by MotoWear International. Ambrose Custom has added a leather headliner and a Kicker audio system replaces the stock radio. Extra sound deadening is added, along with Rugged Radios communications for talking on race day.

Otherwise, this F-150’s interior should features all the same factory equipment commonly found in the Raptor. This includes the large TFT Driver Information Screen, the SNYC 3 infotainment system, and the spacious rear seating arrangements.
Drivetrain
Not much had to be done to the Raptor’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. With 445 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, the engine is plenty capable of propelling this truck through the desert. However, a K&N Cold Air Intake and a Gibson cat-back exhaust system were added to help improve airflow. No performance increases were stated, but the upgrades are perhaps worth five to 10 horsepower and pound-feet of torque. An Opitma battery was added for extra cranking power on cold desert nights.
Suspension
Note: Standard Ford F-150 Raptor pictured here.
The truck’s suspension and chassis was also upgraded to meet the demanding needs of the desert. A custom Foutz Motorsports suspension was added, which includes Fox shocks and QA1 suspension rod ends. A Mark Williams Enterprises nine-inch rear end third member and US Gear 529 differential gears were added to the rear axle. Matching US Gear 529 gears were added to the front differential as well.
Conclusion
The Foutz Motorsports F-150 Raptor seems like the typical SEMA build. It combines performance parts with added luxury features like sound deadening and stereo systems that make a vehicle more well rounded in a purpose-built kind of way.
We have to admit, we’re curious to see how the build comes together for SEMA. The image and press release contradict themselves at several points, so hopefully seeing the build in person will clarify some things.

Press Release
This F-150 Raptor concept is designed with luxury in mind, yet it can cruise down the highway or swoop in to dominate off-road at Baja. Greg Foutz and the Foutz Motorsports team used their extensive knowledge of the Baja race to develop an even more aggressive suspension extending the stance 3 inches on each side, with factory fenders stretched 4 inches on each side to cover massive 40-inch tires on factory Raptor wheels. Bypass shocks help take on any terrain, while 6-piston calipers wrap around the rotors for ultimate stopping power.
